Summary

This course steps up a level from beginner and intermediate courses and is predominantly aimed at business analysts as well as the Excel power-user. It will provide you with an overview of Excel’s programming model and provide solid grounding in many of the day-to-day solutions afforded to Excel power-users. Skills that you will gain include, filtering and presenting management data from a variety of sources, reading and analysing data, and using reporting tools and functions, including Pivot Tables.

Subject Matter Expert

Fred Benbow-Hebbert is an independent contractor with 23 years’ experience in the Microsoft client/server environment using Visual Basic, VBA programming of Excel, Access and [JB1] Outlook, and ASP/JavaScript/HTML/XML for web applications.

He specialises in reading databases with either VB6, Access or Excel front ends, depending on the amount of data-set manipulation required (Excel for the most complex).

Fred worked in London from 2001 to 2004, contracted to a newly established subsidiary of the personnel recruitment giant Pertemps. He continued to work for the company from Cape Town, until 2014.
