A positive mind opens a gateway to opportunities an individual cannot even begin to fathom. When the mind is conditioned to react and process information positively, it attracts positive things and gives you a whole new perspective on life.
It is very important to condition your mind to speak and think positively so that the words that come out of your mind are positive. This requires putting thought into what you want to say and how you are going to say it. The most important thing to consider is that you can have the most positive thing to say, but how your message is delivered can be completely distorted and not received positively or misinterpreted.
Taking the time to digest your words and thoughts is a process and requires you train yourself and have discipline constantly. Start everyday by reading positive affirmations, listen to motivational talks and podcasts, even if you create your own positive thoughts and recite them in front of the mirror before walking out of the door. This way you can train your mind to be in a certain state of mind every morning, making you conscious of your decisions, thoughts and actions.
You have to be intent in your pursuit of being a whole new person with a positive outlook on life. There are so many challenges that an individual is faced with daily.
Train your mind to have a positive outlook on everything. This means telling yourself “the season is temporary” or “the challenge is only there to build your character and make you a better person” or even look forward to seeing how your life is going to change once you have overcome. The mind is such a powerful organ but the good thing about it is that is can be trained, if your aim is to be a beacon of light for yourself and for people around you, train your mind to stay positive.
The heart absorbs emotions and feelings and once that has happened, it is a difficult process trying to get back to a place where you are happy and content with a positive mind-set. So it is your responsibility to protect it at all costs. Avoid situations that might upset you, not all conversations are worth entertaining, sometimes it is better to just let things go and ignore for your sanity or if it is playing on your mind, address the root of the challenge and cultivate a positive mind.
The company you surround yourself with also plays a crucial role in the person you become. Unfortunately, the people you spend most of your time with rub off on you. You subconsciously pick up their habits, language and how they behave. The saying “birds of a feather, flock together” or even “show me your friends and I’ll show you your future” have a much deeper meaning than people realise. If you are constantly around people who complain nonstop about their jobs, family and life in general, you mirror their thoughts and behaviour.
